We strongly recommend those flying in do so through the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac). Once there, you can take the light rail into Seattle (~50 min), Uber/Lyft (20-50 min depending on traffic), or rent a car for the duration of your stay.
Staying in Seattle
The Silver Cloud Hotel is the closest hotel to the venue (~1.1 mi), and there are a number of 4-5 star hotels in downtown Seattle (Embassy Suites, Hilton, etc). In truth, we recommend AirBnB or VRBO as many very nice, private residences are available for short term rental in the area. There's not a lot to do in SoDo around the wedding venue. So, if you're planning to do more than just fly in for the wedding, we recommend staying near your other activities for convenience.
Things to do in Seattle
Seattle has much to offer those visiting. Please see below for a list of our favorite spots!
For free:
Kerry Park: The quintessential Fraiser view of Seattle.
Olympic Sculture Park: A free, outdoor exhibit from the Seattle Art Museum. Also fun fact, this plus the attached Elliot Bay Trail are where Kim does the majority of her marathon training runs.
Pike Place: Our local "farmer's market" by the loosest definition of the term. Though it's free to enter, you might drop some cash on local snacks, flowers, or gifts to take home!
For more than free:
Chihuly Garden and Glass:
A beautiful indoor/outdoor display of blown glass works in downtown Seattle. If you have extra time, be sure to also check out the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, including live glass blowing in their hot shop.
Seattle Art Museum (SAM): Including visiting exhibitions "Georgia O'Keefe: Abstract variations", "You are on indigenous land: places/displaces" and "Exceptionally ordinary: Mingei 1920-2020".
For food (not including Indian and sushi as you'll get those at the reception!):
Bite Box: A small, family-run spot for breakfast/brunch in upper Queen Anne. And by small, we mean it. So go before 10 AM or expect a wait for a table.
FOB Poke Bar: It's technically not sushi so there. Recommend the FOB rice blend with salmon.
